What goTravel is
goTravel is a planning aid that helps you organise a trip yourself. It is not a travel agent or tour operator: it does not sell, book or reserve travel, and it takes no commission on bookings. Day-by-day plans are free with an account. An optional trip pass unlocks extra features (below).
Trip pass
A trip pass is a one-time payment for one country. It unlocks that country's extra features (such as door-to-door routes, place guides, prices and budget tools, detailed transport information and the PDF itinerary) on your account for the period shown when you buy it (for example 12 months). It is not a subscription and does not renew. The price and exactly what it includes are shown before you pay, and the planner marks every feature that needs the pass. Day-by-day plans, safety information and emergency numbers are always free.
Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. goTravel never sees your card details. Your pass starts as soon as the payment goes through. If something is not right, write to [email protected] within 14 days of buying and we will refund you, provided that you have not downloaded a PDF itinerary with the pass. A PDF is a copy of the paid content that you keep, so it cannot be returned. By buying a pass, you ask for it to start at once and you agree that your right to a refund ends when you download a PDF itinerary. This does not affect any rights you have by law when the service is faulty. Deleting your account ends any pass on it. A pass is for your own trips, so please do not share your account.
PDF itineraries
Where a country offers it, you can download your trip as a PDF to use offline. A PDF is for your own use and for the people travelling with you. Each page shows the email address of the account that made it, the date and a reference code, and we record each download on your account (the country, the number of days, the time and the reference). Please do not publish, sell or pass on copies. If copies of a PDF are shared or published, we may end the pass of the account that made it without a refund. To prevent bulk copying, an account can make up to 20 PDFs of one country in 24 hours. A PDF is a snapshot of the plan on the day it was made: prices, opening hours and timetables change, so check the live plan in goTravel before you pay or travel.
Hotel listings
Where goTravel names a hotel, it is either our pick (chosen by us, never paid for) or marked Sponsored: a paid listing, shown apart from our picks, for a limited time. Sponsored listings never change your plan, your routes or our area recommendations. Links on sponsored listings are marked as paid links. Always check the hotel's own terms and current price before you book.
Prices, times and routes
Every price, timetable and route is researched by hand from official and published sources, and shows when it was last checked. Some are marked estimate. Prices and timetables change without notice, so always confirm with the operator, ticket office or official website before you pay, book or travel. Budgets are estimates, not quotes.
Safety information
Safety tips and emergency numbers are general guidance. In an emergency, call the local emergency services. Follow official travel advice from your own government.
Accounts
You need a free account to use the planner. To create one, you must be 16 or older, give a real email address, and keep your password to yourself. You can delete your account at any time from the account menu. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
Reviews and messages
Reviews must be your own honest experience of the place. Please do not post anything false, hateful, harassing or illegal, personal details (names, phone numbers) of guides, drivers or anyone else, adverts or links, or reviews you were paid or rewarded for. Every review is checked before it appears. We may decline, edit out personal details from, or remove any review, and three reports from other travellers take a review offline until it is checked again.
You keep ownership of what you write. By posting a review you allow goTravel to show it in the app and on our sites, with your chosen name, for as long as it stays published. If you delete it, or your account, it is removed.
Other services and links
goTravel links to maps and to official sites, and shows photos and map tiles from other services. Those services have their own terms, and goTravel is not responsible for them or for what they show.
No warranty
goTravel is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses, delays, costs or decisions that result from using the information here.
Fair use
Use goTravel for planning your own trips. Please do not try to disrupt the site or copy its data in bulk.
Content and licences
goTravel's text, research and design are owned by goTravel. Photos are used under their providers' licences. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors. Fonts: Volkhov and Poppins, under the SIL Open Font License.
